Episode 19 - The Hawk of Achill

Episode 18 - The Judgement of Fintan

It was the job of the Shannachie to travel the land of Erin and collect stories from far-flung corners and this tale tells of his long life and his place in the history of the magical Isle of Erin.

The tale is the Meester Stoorworm which tells of a poor boy made good - a typical fairy tale from Celtic lands. The W B Yeats poem is the Rider from the North from Yeats' book In the Seven Woods.
