Imbolc, February 2nd, otherwise known as Oimelc or Candlemas, is one of the four great fire festivals of the Celtic peoples. It is generally observed as the first stirrings of Spring. In the pagan cycle of the year it it the time of pregnancy, the time of preparation for Birth at Bealtinne. It is presided over by Brighid or Bride, goddess of fire and poetry and is celebrated with the lighting of the Bridefire, often represented today by the lighting of a candle.On this day we shall be launching our Podshow.

It seems only right, somehow, to coincide our new venture of Celtic exploration with the comings of Spring and at the time of one of the great Festivals.
