Tinkerscuss's driving music can be heard on our first Christmas Music Special, SP07, where they have graciously allowed us to bring you This Song.
Tinkerscuss are the Gloucestershire based duo who play a mixture of both traditional and Celtic based music. Erin and Bryony Holden first cut their teeth on the rock and blues scene of the mid 1970’s to early 80’s playing covers of Free, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell as well as some original material. It was during this time that they discovered Pentangle, The Bothy Band, John Martyn, and Planxty. But it was Scottish musician Dick Gaughan who took them down an altogether different route, entering the world of 'Celtic' folk music and DADGAD guitar tuning. The guitar style seemed so different and the sounds were almost ‘harp’ or ‘pipe’ like, which fascinated Erin.
Bryony's rich, resonant vocals and expressive performance was always a 'crowd stopper' and in 2003 Bryony and Erin formed the Celtic duo ‘Tinkerscuss.’ The music created an atmosphere of melody and rhythmic beauty and they played across the county of Gloucestershire in folk clubs, pubs and local festivals before branching out across the country.
Tinkerscuss have 4 albums available.
